of <h1>Customs Circular: Manual Bills of Entry Assessment Protocols, Exclusions, and Group Assignments Effective June 1, 2004.</h1> The circular from the Commissioner of Customs, Mumbai, addresses the assessment of Manual Bills of Entry, excluding Direct Delivery Bills, Defence and Diplomatic Imports, and Current Newspapers and Magazines. These will be assessed by the Appraising Groups responsible for specific tariff items. Group II B will handle the assessment and direct delivery permissions for the specified categories, maintaining a register for these activities. The import noting section will continue assigning 'Thoka No.' to approved Manual Bills of Entry and maintain a detailed register. The notice is effective from June 1, 2004, with any issues to be reported to the Additional Commissioner.
