Mumbai Customs Shifts to Electronic Transfer Release Advices for Imports Starting August 5, 2004. Manual Processes Cease.
The Commissioner of Customs (Imports) at the Air Cargo Complex in Mumbai announces the transition from manual to electronic Transfer Release Advices (TRA) effective August 5, 2004. Importers, Custom House Agents, and relevant officers must follow the new electronic procedures. Licenses must be registered in the ICES Import System, and TRAs will be issued electronically from the Custom House of registration. Manual registration of TRAs will cease once electronic transmission begins. For non-ICES locations, TRAs will be processed electronically, and hard copies will be provided to license holders. No manual TRAs will be issued, ensuring all processes are conducted through the system.
