of <h1>Foreign Passport Holders Can Exchange Up to Rs. 5000 Weekly in India Until Dec 15, 2016.</h1> Foreign citizens holding foreign passports can exchange foreign currency for Indian currency up to Rs. 5000 per week until December 15, 2016. This is contingent upon providing a self-declaration that the facility has not been used during the week. Authorized Persons must record passport details and declarations, ensuring the weekly exchange does not exceed Rs. 5000. The issuance of prepaid instruments by Authorized Dealer Category I Banks remains unchanged. These instructions, issued under the Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999, must be communicated to all relevant parties by Authorized Persons.
