of <h1>Customs Department to Replace Passes with Biometric Smart Cards for Agents; Submit Details by August 26, 2011.</h1> The Customs Department has announced the issuance of mandatory Biometric Smart Cards to replace existing Customs passes for Custom House Agents (CHAs), their employees, and self-operating importers/exporters. These cards will store individual and company information digitally and require updates upon any changes. The transition will start with CHAs at the New Custom House. All relevant personnel must submit their details by August 26, 2011, using a specified form. Cardholders will need to provide biometric data at a later date. CHAs and related associations are urged to cooperate with this initiative.
