EU Regulation Requires Health Certificate for Indian Chillies and Nutmeg Imports, Effective February 2016.
The European Union has implemented Regulation (EU) No. 2016/24, effective from February 2, 2016, mandating that all shipments of Capsicum annuum (chillies and related products) and nutmeg from India to EU member states must include a Health Certificate from the Export Inspection Council. This certificate confirms that the products have been tested for aflatoxins and comply with EU standards. Exporters must attach analytical test results from the Spices Board to the Health Certificate. Shipments dispatched before the regulation's effective date are exempt from this requirement. Compliance is required from February 2, 2016, onward.
