CBDT Urges Swift Action on 7863 Pending Grievances; Prioritize Resolution as Per Citizens' Charter, Submit Reports by Feb 15.
The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) emphasizes the urgent need to address public grievances through the Centralised Public Grievance Redress And Monitoring System (CPGRAMS). Currently, 7863 grievances are pending, with 81 unresolved for over a year and 1969 for more than six months, despite a two-month resolution goal outlined in the Citizens' Charter. The Prime Minister has urged expedited resolution of grievances. Officers are instructed to prioritize grievance redressal, provide interim replies if delays occur, and update the status on CPGRAMS. An action report for grievances pending over six months is due by February 15, 2016.
