of <h1>Nearly 59 Lakh Cases Assessed Under NMS Cycle 4 for 2014-15; Integrated into AIMS for Officer Access.</h1> Around 58.95 lakh cases were selected under NMS Cycle 4 for the assessment year 2014-15, with notifications sent to taxpayers via email and SMS. Of these, 11.77 lakh cases were resolved as taxpayers filed their returns, and these have been closed. All cases, including closed ones, have been integrated into the Actionable Information Monitoring System (AIMS) and are accessible to jurisdictional assessing officers. Previously, NMS Cycle 3 cases were incorporated into AIMS in February 2015. The AIMS module provides several functionalities for assessing officers, including viewing data, issuing letters, updating taxpayer status, proposing closure, and issuing notices. Instructions are advised for field formations to utilize these systems effectively to broaden the tax base.
