Export Declaration Form Waivers Revised for Status Holders, Allowing Free Export of Promotional Goods Under FEMA 1999.
The circular addresses the grant of Export Declaration Form (EDF) waivers for exporting goods free of cost. It highlights a revision in the policy for Status Holders, who are now allowed to export freely exportable items without cost for promotional purposes, subject to an annual limit of Rs. 10 lakh or 2% of the average annual export realization over the previous three years, whichever is lower. Authorized Dealer Category-I banks are advised to consider requests for EDF waivers based on this revised criterion. These directions are issued under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA), 1999.
