of <h1>Chennai Customs Expands: New 4-Acre Area Designated for FCL Cargo Handling Under 2009 Regulations.</h1> The Commissioner of Customs in Chennai has declared an additional 4-acre area, including a covered shed of 24,500 square feet, as a 'Customs Area' for the handling of Full Container Load (FCL) import and export cargo. This area, located adjacent to the existing Container Freight Station of a private terminal operator in Chennai, is designated for the examination and clearance of FCL cargo under Customs supervision. The notice specifies boundaries and mandates compliance with the Handling of Cargo in Customs Area Regulations, 2009. The declaration becomes effective on September 17, 2012.
