Board Urges Offices to Regularly Use E-DECS for Efficient Communication and Information Collection; Monitoring Initiated.
The Board emphasizes the need for a reliable communication system to efficiently disseminate instructions and collect information from field formations. Following the reorganization in November 2002, the Electronic Departmental Communication System (E-DECS) was developed to address this need. E-DECS allows senders to track message readership, tabulate replies, and maintain a permanent record of communications. Despite its implementation on March 31, 2003, some offices are not regularly checking emails. The Board urges all designated offices to routinely use the system for communication and information collection, providing necessary login details and support through the Directorate of Systems. Usage will be closely monitored.
