of <h1>Income Tax Return Deadline Extended to August 5, 2013; Special Counters Open Including Weekend for Convenience.</h1> The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has extended the deadline for filing income tax returns from July 31, 2013, to August 5, 2013. To accommodate taxpayers, special counters will be open from August 1 to August 5, 2013, including the weekend of August 3 and 4. This directive is issued to all Chief Commissioners of Income Tax to ensure the smooth processing of returns during this period. The notice also instructs relevant departments to publicize the extension and update the information on official websites.
