Security Requirement Suspended for Merchant Exporters Registered with Export Promotion Council to Boost Trade Efficiency.
Merchant exporters, excluding certain status holders, were initially required to provide a security of 25% of the bond amount for exports, as per the Central Excise Manual and Circular No. 586/23/2001-CX. However, due to concerns about increased compliance costs affecting exports, the Board has decided to suspend this requirement for merchant exporters registered with a Recognised Export Promotion Council. Field formations are instructed not to demand this security from such exporters until further notice. Acknowledgment of this circular's receipt is requested, and a Hindi version will follow.
