of <h1>Foreign Trade Policy Update: Pre-shipment Inspection for Metallic Scrap Imports Revised, Ensuring Safety and Compliance with Global Standards.</h1> The Director General of Foreign Trade has amended the Handbook of Procedures (Vol. I) and Public Notice No. 16 dated 15.10.2004, under the Foreign Trade Policy, 2004-09. The amendment revises paragraph 2.32 (i) (I) to require a pre-shipment inspection certificate from approved agencies, confirming that consignments of metallic waste or scrap do not contain arms, ammunition, or explosive materials and meet internationally accepted standards. The certificate must include details about the importer, the description and origin of the scrap, and the tests conducted. This amendment is issued in the public interest.
