Imports of Penicillin and 6-APA: Export Obligation Limited to 3 Months, No Extensions Allowed; Temporary Halt on New Licenses.
The Director General of Foreign Trade has amended the Handbook of Procedures Vol-2 concerning the import of Penicillin and 6-APA under the Advance Licensing Scheme. A new note specifies that when Penicillin or 6-APA is imported under the Duty Exemption Scheme, the export obligation period is limited to three months from the first import consignment's clearance. No extensions will be granted for these licenses. Additionally, no new Advance Licenses for importing 6-APA will be issued for 30 days from the notice date. These changes are made in the public interest.
