Specifically, the amendment affects the export of white sugar, which now requires the import of 1.05 MT of raw sugar per 1 MT of white sugar exported. The raw sugar must have a sucrose content with a polarimeter reading between 98.5% and 99.5%. Exporters dealing with sugar outside this range can apply under paragraph 4.7 of the Export and Import Policy. This amendment is issued in the public interest.
