of <h1>Withdrawal of Previous SSI Excise Duty Instructions; Rule 173GG Omitted, Now u/r 173G Effective April 1, 2000.</h1> The circular announces the withdrawal of previous instructions regarding the monthly payment of excise duty by Small Scale Industries (SSI) due to changes in the Budget 2000-2001. Rule 173GG of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, which outlined a special procedure for SSI based on value of clearances, has been omitted from April 1, 2000. The provisions are now included under Rule 173G. Consequently, Circular No. 458/24/99-CX dated May 27, 1999, is withdrawn effective April 1, 2000. Relevant parties and field formations are to be informed and acknowledge receipt of this circular.
