Export Ceiling Set for Coarse Grains in 2000-2001: 50,000 MTs Approved, Shipment Deadline Extended to May 31, 2001.
The Director General of Foreign Trade has specified a quantitative ceiling on the export of coarse grains for the licensing year 2000-2001. An additional 50,000 metric tons of coarse grains, including barley, maize, bajra, ragi, and jowar (excluding hybrid jowar grown as a Kharif crop), are approved for export. The allocation is divided among three agencies: 10,000 MTs each for STC and STCL, Bangalore, and 30,000 MTs for APEDA for exporters. The deadline for shipment is extended to May 31, 2001. This decision is made in the public interest.
