India Sets 20 Lakh Metric Ton Cap on Wheat Exports for 2000-2001; No Limit on Wheat Products.
The circular issued by the Director General of Foreign Trade specifies the export limits for wheat and wheat products for the licensing year 2000-2001. A quantitative ceiling of 20 lakh metric tons is set for wheat exports, while wheat products can be exported without any quantitative restrictions. The Agriculture and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) is designated to issue Registration-cum-Allocation Certificates for these exports. This decision is made in the public interest.
