of <h1>CBEC Allows Trim Cutting Waste Imports for Chindi Rugs Without License; No Amendments to ITC (HS) Code 6310 Needed.</h1> The circular addresses the import of trim cutting waste for the manufacture of Chindi rugs, which are primarily exported. Previously, these imports were restricted under ITC (HS) Code 6310, requiring goods to be mutilated for import without a license. Following consultations with the Ministry of Textiles, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) decided no amendment to the code was necessary. However, the Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) will instruct that such imports, with a maximum width of two inches, can proceed without a license, exempting them from existing restrictions.
