It clarifies that due to changes in the Harmonized System (HS) codes effective from January 1, 2007, these monitors are now classified under subheading 8528 40 and are eligible for customs duty exemption under Notification No. 24/2005-Cus. However, monitors used as television or video reception apparatus are classified under subheadings 8528 71 or 8528 72 and are not eligible for the exemption. Guidelines are provided for distinguishing computer monitors from TV/video monitors for proper classification.
