DGFT Expands Online DEPB Applications to 10 More EDI Ports; Advance and EPCG Licenses Require Digital Submission.
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) announced the expansion of online submission of Duty Entitlement Pass Book (DEPB) applications to 10 additional Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) ports effective January 16, 2006. This initiative automates the issuance and transmission of DEPB licenses for shipments from these ports, aligning with Policy Circular 28. Certain ports like Raxaul and Petrapole are excluded from EDI processing. Manual DEPB applications are required in some cases, such as third-party claims. From January 16, 2006, Advance and EPCG License applications must be submitted online with digital signatures and EFT. The DGFT also allows multiple applications for Vishesh Krishi Upaj Yojana claims to ease server load.
