India Allocates 8,500 Metric Tons of Raw Sugar for 2001 Export to USA Under Preferential Tariff Quota.
The circular from the Directorate General of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Commerce, Government of India, dated January 2, 2001, announces the allocation of 8,500 metric tons of raw sugar from the 2000-2001 freesale quota for export to the USA under the Preferential Raw Cane Sugar Tariff Rate Quota for fiscal year 2001. The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) is tasked with issuing the necessary Registration-cum-Allocation Certificate to a designated corporation in New Delhi. Existing procedures for exporting preferential sugar to the USA, including certification requirements, will remain in effect.
