Exporters Can Ship to RPA Countries in Indian Rupees if Letters of Credit Are Pre-January 28, 2000.
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade has issued a circular allowing exporters to ship goods to RPA countries against payment in Indian Rupees under irrevocable letters of credit established before January 28, 2000. This decision addresses exporters' difficulties in meeting shipment deadlines as per Circular No. 55(RE-99). Exporters may proceed under paragraph 11.7 of Policy (RE-99) if shipments occur by June 30, 2000, without changes to the goods' description in the original letter of credit. This directive is approved by the Director General of Foreign Trade.
