Finance Ministry Cuts Export Red Tape: Redundant Declarations Abolished, Essential Docs Remain.
The circular from the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, announces the reduction of export documentation requirements by abolishing several declarations deemed unnecessary. Following a Sub-Committee's review, essential documents such as commercial invoices, packing lists, ARE-1 forms, and certain declarations remain mandatory. However, declarations related to the Drawback Scheme, DEPB Scheme, and DEEC/DFRC Scheme, which have outlived their utility, are abolished. Non-EDI stations will continue some declarations until integrated into the EDI system. The circular advises issuing a Draft Notice for guidance and invites feedback on implementation challenges.
