of <h1>Finance Ministry Circular: Limit Piecemeal Queries on Bills of Entry to Prevent Delays in Goods Clearance.</h1> The circular from the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, Central Board of Excise & Customs addresses concerns raised by the trade regarding piecemeal queries by assessing officers on Bills of Entry and Shipping Bills, which cause delays in the assessment and clearance of goods. The Board has decided that officers should avoid such queries wherever possible. Additionally, in locations where Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) is operational, Systems Managers/Administrators should monitor the nature and number of queries to prevent frivolous ones. The instructions are to be communicated to all relevant parties.
