of <h1>Customs Clarifies 5% Duty EPCG Scheme: No Past Licence Verification Required for Service Providers Under Exim Policy 2000-2001.</h1> The circular addresses the applicability of the 5% duty Export Promotion Capital Goods (EPCG) Scheme for service providers, clarifying that Customs should not verify past issuance of 10% or zero duty EPCG Licences when processing current 5% duty EPCG Licences. According to the Exim Policy 2000-2001, EPCG Licences can be issued to all service providers regardless of past licence status. Customs is instructed to grant the 5% duty concession if the conditions specified in Customs 49/2000-Cus are met and the licence is valid for the imported goods. Field staff and trade should be informed through appropriate notices.
