of <h1>Commerce Ministry mandates six-month advance submissions for officer deputation extensions in Special Economic Zones.</h1> The Ministry of Commerce & Industry has observed that proposals for extending the deputation period of officers in Special Economic Zones are often submitted without sufficient justification and are delayed, sometimes even after the expiry of the current deputation period. To address this, all Development Commissioners are instructed to submit extension proposals at least six months before the deputation period ends. These proposals must be complete, justified, and follow the prescribed proforma. Approvals are often required from higher authorities such as the Commerce Secretary. The circular emphasizes the need for timely and well-justified submissions.
