Writ in the nature of Mandamus directing the respondents to expedite the disposal of the pending appeal filed on 08.05.2015 in a time bound manner - HELD THAT:- A perusal of the record shows that the appeal was filed on 08.05.2015 i.e. almost about 10 years back and till date there is no progress in the proceedings. The present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No. 4 – Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeals) to decide the appeal filed by the petitioner within a period of six months from the date of receipt of copy of this order. In the case before the Punjab and Haryana High Court, the petitioner sought a writ of Mandamus to compel the respondents to expedite the resolution of a pending appeal (No. 185/2015-16) filed on May 8, 2015. The petitioner argued that the appeal, lodged with the Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeals), had seen no progress for nearly a decade. The respondents did not oppose this request. Upon review, the court directed the Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeals) to resolve the appeal within six months from receiving the order. All pending applications were also disposed of.
