AN INTRODUCTION TO DIR 3 KYC

DIR-3 KYC requires directors to update verified personal details via a web service, enabling simplified annual compliance. DIR-3 KYC requires individuals with a Director Identification Number to maintain verified personal details for KYC, covering first-time filings and updates. A designated web service allows directors who have previously filed to authenticate via one-time passwords, confirm pre-populated particulars, and complete annual KYC filing with no fee and generation of a challan. An Introduction to DIR –3 KYC

DIR –3 KYC, a form has been initially introduced vide Notification dated 5 July 2018 by Ministry of Corporate Affairs and made compulsory filing for the directors. The directors are required to update their basic details like name, address, mobile number, mail id etc with respect to the proofs. The motive behind the introduction of such compliance is to remove the fake directors. On 25 July 2019, a new service Web Service DIR –3 KYChas been notified by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. The notification explains that:

  1. E form DIR –3 KYC is to be filled by the an individual, who holds DIN and filing the KYC details for the first time or by an individual who has already filed his KYC details and wanted to update it.
  2. A service – Web Service DIR –3 KYC is introduced for those individuals who have already submitted their KYC in the previous year and while filing for the current year, it does not require any updation.

Every director who is having DIN as on 31 march of a financial year is required to file the respective form. This service is a easy, quick and very simple process for KYC updation. In a few minutes, the whole process of updation gets completed. It saves time, energy, efforts and harassment from the slow working of site while uploading any form. The steps to file the same are as follows:

  1. Login to the MCA  Portal
  2. Click on the link MCA Services
  3. Now click on the option DIR –3 KYC Web
  4. Write the DIN in the box
  5. Click on submit
  6. Now select the option –send OTP
  7. The 2 different OTP will be sent on the registered mobile number and emailid
  8. Write both the OTPs in the respective columns.
  9. A columnar detail of the director will be shown on the screen
  10. Now click on the proceed
  11. In  the next screen fee payment box will be visible
  12. Zero fee will be charged
  13. Finally the challan will be generated
