of <h1>Amendment to Rule 18 allows duty rebate on exported excisable goods, covering refunded duties from July 2001 to February 2002.</h1> The Fifth Schedule of the Finance Bill, 2008, proposes an amendment to Rule 18 of the Central Excise (No. 2) Rules, 2001. This amendment introduces a proviso allowing the rebate of duty paid on excisable goods cleared for export to include portions of duty for which a refund has been granted under specific government notifications. This amendment applies to the period from July 1, 2001, to February 28, 2002.
