Upon encashment, the recipient must sign the back of the certificate as acknowledgment of payment. If the certificate was initially purchased for a minor who has since reached adulthood, the now-major individual must sign the certificate. This signature must be attested by either the original purchaser or another individual known to the Postmaster.
