Encashment of military-held certificates: commanding officers' requisition compels post office payment on death or desertion despite nominations. A commanding officer or appropriate adjustment committee may issue a requisition under the defence disposal provisions requiring the officer in charge of the post office where a certificate is registered to pay the amount due on the holder's death or desertion, and the post office is obliged to comply with such requisition notwithstanding any nomination in favour of another person.
