Ventilation and workplace climate standards require protective measures, fresh air supply, and mechanical ventilation where natural airflow is inadequate.

Suitable atmospheric conditions must be maintained in industrial premises by natural or artificial means to prevent insufficient air supply, stagnant or vitiated air, harmful draughts, excessive heat or cold, sudden temperature variations, and, where practicable, excessive humidity, dryness, and objectionable odours. The employer must also take adequate measures to protect employees from extreme weather conditions by adjusting working hours, providing protective clothing, or supplying other necessary protective arrangements free of charge. Where natural ventilation is inadequate, mechanical ventilation must be provided.
