Industrial Relations rules commence on official gazette publication, superseding earlier central labour rules in relevant parts. These rules are made under the Industrial Relations Code, 2020 and are brought into force as the Industrial Relations (Central) Rules, 2026. They take effect on publication in the Official Gazette. The notification records prior publication of the draft rules, consideration of objections and suggestions received from stakeholders, and supersession of the Industrial Disputes (Central) Rules, 1957, and the Industrial Employment (Standing Orders) Central Rules, 1946, so far as they relate to these rules, subject to things done or omitted before such supersession.
