Profits from International Aircraft Operations Taxed Only in State of Enterprise's Origin; Exceptions for Interest
Profits from the operation of aircraft in international traffic by an enterprise of a Contracting State are taxable only in that State. This also applies to profits from participation in pools, joint businesses, or international operating agencies. Specifically, for the Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS), only the profits derived by the Norwegian partner, Det Norske Luftfartsselskap A/S (DNL), in proportion to its share are covered. Interest on funds related to aircraft operations is treated as profits from such operations, excluding the application of Article 12. The term 'operation of aircraft' includes air transportation of passengers, mail, livestock, or goods, and related activities.
