Contravention of search orders now punishable by simple imprisonment up to two years and fine. Clause 17 amends section 275A to change the penal description for contravention of orders made during search action under section 132 from rigorous imprisonment up to two years to simple imprisonment for a term up to two years along with a fine, with effect from 1 March 2026.
