Mandatory CDMDF investment quotas forcing mutual funds and AMCs to allocate Board-specified percentages of assets
Regulation prescribes mandatory investment quotas in the Corporate Debt Market Development Fund (CDMDF): mutual funds must allocate a Board-specified percentage of net assets of specified categories of schemes to units of the CDMDF, creating a compulsory channeling of specified scheme assets into the fund; and asset management companies must allocate a Board-specified percentage of assets under management to units of the CDMDF, thereby requiring AMC-level investment into the fund. The percentages and scope are to be specified by SEBI and determine the extent of required participation.
