of <h1>Factory-based registration for machine owners filing HSNS REG-01, with temporary numbers issued to pay cess u/s 10.</h1> Every taxable person liable for registration under section 8 of the Act must apply for registration by submitting FORM HSNS REG-01 on the Portal with the documents specified in that form; where the person owns, possesses, leases, or controls machines installed in more than one factory, a separate FORM HSNS REG-01 application must be filed for each factory, resulting in distinct registration applications per factory. On successful submission of the application, a temporary registration number must be generated and communicated to the applicant, enabling discharge of cess liability under section 10 of the Act pending grant of the registration certificate under rule 5.
