Uninterrupted territorial operations required to acquire origin; return after export preserves origin if only preservation operations occurred
The rule mandates that criteria for acquiring originating status be satisfied without interruption within the territory of a Party; uninterrupted production, processing or other operations are required to confer origin. If an originating product is exported to a non-Party and subsequently returned to the exporting Party without having undergone any operations there other than those necessary to preserve it in good condition, the product retains its originating status.
