of <h1>Taxation Laws (Amendment) Act, 1984 updates Section 144B: Variation proposals by Income-tax Officer limited to before October 1984.</h1> Section 144B of the Income-tax Act, 1961, has been amended by the Taxation Laws (Amendment) Act, 1984. The amendment specifies that in sub-section (1), the phrase 'the Income-tax Officer proposes to make any variation' is replaced with 'the Income-tax Officer proposes to make, before the 1st day of October, 1984, any variation.' This change is effective from October 1, 1984.
