of <h1>Wealth-tax Act Section 17B amended: Tax rate reduced from 2% to 1.25% effective June 1, 2001.</h1> Section 17B of the Wealth-tax Act is amended by the Finance Act, 2001. In sub-sections (1) and (3) of this section, the tax rate is revised from 'two per cent' to 'one and one-fourth per cent.' This change is effective from June 1, 2001.
