of <h1>Income-tax Act Section 48 Amended: Monetary Threshold Increased to Fifteen Thousand Rupees, Effective April 1, 1992.</h1> Section 48 of the Income-tax Act has been amended by the Finance (No. 2) Act, 1991. In sub-section (2), the monetary threshold has been increased from 'ten thousand rupees' to 'fifteen thousand rupees.' This amendment will take effect starting April 1, 1992.
