of <h1>Amendment to Section 80P Includes Fishing Activities and Limits Voting Rights in Co-operative Societies.</h1> Section 80P of the Income-tax Act was amended by the Finance (No. 2) Act, 1971, effective April 1, 1972. The amendment added sub-clauses (vi) and (vii) to clause (a) of sub-section (2), which include the collective disposal of members' labor and activities related to fishing, such as catching, processing, and marketing fish. A proviso was also added, restricting voting rights in co-operative societies to individuals contributing labor or engaging in fishing activities, co-operative credit societies providing financial assistance, and the State Government.
