Discontinuance of salt duty suspends central excise and tariff levies on manufactured and imported salt for the fiscal year. For the fiscal year beginning 1 April 1966, no duty shall be levied under the Central Excises Act or the Tariff Act on salt manufactured in, or imported into, India, effecting a temporary suspension of excise and import duties on salt for that period.
