Compounding procedure allows authority to call records, require corrective action and issue an expeditious order after hearing. The compounding authority may call for any information, record or documents relevant to a compounding proceeding and require applicants to take necessary action regarding transactions involved in the contravention. On receipt of a complete application at the prescribed regulatory office, the authority must afford an opportunity of being heard and pass a compounding order as expeditiously as possible, with the Reserve Bank or the Directorate of Enforcement designated as the forum for processing the application.
