of <h1>Amendment to Section 98: Securities Transaction Tax Rates on Options and Futures to Increase from October 2024.</h1> Clause 155 of the Bill proposes amendments to section 98, Chapter VII, of the Finance (No. 2) Act, 2004, concerning the securities transaction tax. The amendment seeks to increase the tax rate on the sale of an option in securities from 0.0625% to 0.1% of the option premium and on the sale of futures in securities from 0.0125% to 0.02% of the trading price. These changes are set to take effect on October 1, 2024.
