Resignation of officers: written notice to Central Government required; office continues until successor assumes duty or term ends. The Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson or Members (excluding ex officio Members) may resign by written notice to the Central Government; upon acceptance the office is vacated. Unless permitted earlier by the Central Government, the office-holder must continue until the earliest of a fixed notice period, the successor entering office, or the expiry of the term.
