          <h1>Certified copies of public documents: right to demand officer certified copies on payment of lawful fees.</h1> Every public officer having custody of a public document that a person may inspect must, on demand and payment of legal fees, provide a copy certified as a true copy; the certificate must be dated, subscribed with the officer's name and official title, and sealed when the officer is authorised to use a seal. An officer ordinarily authorised to deliver such copies is deemed to have custody for this purpose.
