of <h1>India-Australia Trade Deal: Tariff Preferences Suspension Possible for Non-Compliance with Rules or Verification Requests.</h1> The importing party may temporarily suspend tariff preferences for goods originating from the exporting party under the India-Australia Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement if there is a persistent failure by exporters, producers, or relevant authorities to comply with the rules or respond to verification requests. Upon notification of suspension, the exporting party can request consultations through the Joint Technical Subcommittee. Following consultations, the parties may agree to reinstate preferential treatment for the goods, either retroactively or prospectively.
