Continuity of overseas investments: existing foreign commitments are deemed to fall under the new overseas investment rules. Rule 6 deems any investment or financial commitment outside India made in accordance with the Act or its rules and held on the date of publication of these Rules in the Official Gazette to have been made under the Foreign Exchange Management (Overseas Investment) Rules, 2022 and the Foreign Exchange Management (Overseas Investment) Regulations, 2022, thereby preserving continuity of such existing overseas investments and commitments.
